Affiliate marketing – earning while learning

What is affiliate marketing anyway?

And is it really true you can start earning before you even know marketing?

What investments are necessary to succeed?

The answer to the first question requires a bit of explanation, but the answer to the second question is simply – Yes. The third, well, that all depends on which marketing strategy you chose. There are free marketing options and there are paid ones, like paid ads on e.g. Google, YouTube or Bing.

Now, before we dive into how you can earn while you learn, let me give you my view on what affiliate marketing is.

What is affiliate marketing?

When you sign up for a company to sell their products or services as an affiliate, on commission, you become a sales resource for them. Their win is that you’re out there promoting their stuff, bringing in leads and sales. Your win is that you’re earning commissions on the sales that take place from your leads. It’s simply like being in a sales force.

An excellent sales person can sell sand in the middle of the dessert, right? And the same thing goes for affiliate marketing. If you learn to master digital marketing, you can sell anything to anyone. BUT – you shouldn’t. You should only sell the products and services that you’ve tried out yourself and that you really like. Anything else is against your own integrity, and the market will notice.

Earning while learning

So how do become an affiliate marketer? It’s quite simple. You just sign up for an affiliate program and start placing ads, e.g. on Google or Bing. Or on a free marketing option, like your own blog.

Problem is, if you’re like me, trying Amazon and digital marketing for the first time, you’re not going to make any sales. Not a single one.

Why? Because you don’t know digital marketing. Period.

-No knowledge, no sales.

So how do you learn digital marketing then?

Well , there are tons of options out there. Books, lectures, schools, universities, online courses etc. Do your research to find the option that suits you best.

I chose the SFM because of their in-depth learning track for affiliate marketers AND the fact that they make sure you build a business on your own two feet.

Learning digital marketing requires a lot of training and practise. Believe me. It’s like a whole new career if you haven’t done it before.

The great thing is that you can try your new knowledge out as you go along. That’s also what’s so great about SFM – you can put everything you learn into practise instantly, whether your’re on a free marketing strategy or a paid one.

What investments are necessary to succeed?

First of all, you need to invest in your training. Time, money and energy.

There are free learning options available, but make sure they are reliable and proven, ok?

If you’re able to save a little bit of money there are som great companies to join.

Time is a huge asset, make sure you spend it wisely. Being overwhelmed is not uncommon, and the best way to stay focused is to chose a training path that takes you by the hand and let’s you learn everything in the right order, so to speak. I stongly advise against trying to figure everything out on your own. In the end, it will potentially be both costly, annoying, and time-consuming.

Energy – yes. Learning takes some of your energy, but it also boosts your energy levels knowing you’re investing in a future proof education. You’re investing in yourself.

When you know digital marketing you could basically work with anything you like.

A final word

There are options, like I said with e.g. Amazon. If you chose that type of option you need to get yourself trained propely to succeed. Otherwise Amazon will shut you down after 6 months of not bringing them any sales. True fact. Speaking from experience.

Now, if you decide to invest in your trainging and take an option to learn and earn as an affiliate I strongly recommend my beloved SFM: Opt-in for the free video series to get you started
